NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR FREELEY’S STANDOUT OPERATIVE

A Freeley team member has made the final of the NFDC Awards 2026

Artur Czarzasty is in the running to be named Demolition Operative of the Year at the annual awards, which celebrate exceptional individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, skill, and leadership within their role.

Since joining Freeley two years ago, Artur has proved to be an exemplary employee with an impressive work ethic. His skills and can-do attitude have played a vital role in some of Freeley’s largest projects, including the demolition of Wallasey Town Hall Annexes and our RAAC removal programme for the NHS.

With an eagerness to learn, Artur proactively seeks additional training to further his career and personal development. In recent months, he has gained accredited qualifications in operating demolition machinery and strengthened his skills across areas including working at height, manual handling, asbestos removal, and using abrasive wheels.

Freeley’s Director, Michael Freeley, said: “Artur is an exceptionally hardworking employee who consistently goes above and beyond the demands of the role. Honest, polite and a pleasure to work with, he’s also very well respected within the team. In every sense, he embodies the skills, qualities and attitude the demolition industry needs, so it’s no surprise to see him recognised nationally.”

Artur added: “I was genuinely surprised to be shortlisted. I work hard because I love what I do, and Freeley has given me so many opportunities to grow. I’ve learned a lot since joining the team and I’m still building on that every day. Right now, I’m training to become a machine driver, which I’m excited about. Demolition is an industry that has so much to offer, and I’m proud to be part of it.”

The winners will be announced on Friday, 20 March 2026 at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
