The British Safety Council has presented J Freeley with an International Safety Award in recognition of its commitment to workplace safety and wellbeing.
The demolition contractor achieved a Merit in the International Safety Awards 2024, which independently judge organisations’ dedication to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health. The awards also acknowledge organisations’ commitment to protecting wellbeing and mental health at work.
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of British Safety Council, said: “The British Safety Council applauds J Freeley on their achievement.
“The vision of British Safety Council is that no-one should be injured or made ill through their work – anywhere in the world. Achieving this requires more than complying with legislation; it means people committed not only to health & safety but workplace wellbeing, and impelling others to follow suit.
“All of those working at J Freeley should be enormously proud of their achievement.”
Michael Freeley, Director at J Freeley, added: “This award is testament to our focus on continuously improving the way we manage workplace health, safety and wellbeing. In the demanding and high-risk world of demolition, implementing stringent health & safety measures is paramount. Specialist workforce training combined with knowledge sharing and best practice is enabling us to minimise health & safety risks and put more effective systems in place to support our employees’ mental health.”
Open to all organisations globally, the International Safety Awards are now in their 66th year. Applicants must answer a series of online questions about their management of health & safety risks in the previous calendar year, which are assessed by independent health & safety professionals.
