Liscard Building

Liverpool, UK

Freeley completed the demolition of the former municipal building on Seaview Road, marking a key milestone in the regeneration of Liscard town centre and preparing the site for new affordable housing.

Works were undertaken as part of the wider Liscard regeneration programme, which included public realm improvements and enhanced community facilities. The brownfield site, allocated for housing within Wirral Council’s Local Plan, was brought forward for redevelopment and future productive use.

Throughout the project, Freeley prioritised minimising disruption to local residents while supporting local employment and regional supply chains. Freeley deployed low-noise, low-vibration machinery and implemented dust suppression measures. Sections of the building close to occupied properties are being dismantled floor-by-floor under sheeted scaffolding for additional protection.

The demolition was delivered as part of the Liscard Levelling Up Fund Round 3 programme, within a wider £11.98m regeneration package funded by the UK Government and Wirral Council.

"Just wanted to say how impressed I am with the demolition of the buildings in the ferry, well done to all the worked who have kept the area safe and clean. Amazing job getting the land that well prepared.
